Today I launch on Patreon my Topsy the Elephant campaign.

Topsy was a female Asian elephant. She was put to death at Luna Park, one of America’s first amusement parks, on Coney Island, New York, on January 4, 1903. She died from 6,600 volts of electricity. The Edison Manufacturing Company filmed the electrocution. The film, ‘Electrocuting an Elephant’, is available on YouTube. It attracts more than 1.4 million views. If anyone knows anything about Topsy, they saw that film.

I have never forgotten Topsy after I watched her electrocution. I vowed to write her biography so that her miserable life and cruel death were not in vain.

Please work with me to remember Topsy and make a difference for all animals.

Presently I pay for my research and writing and work from a small rented office as my home is too small for one.

My goal for 2023 is to secure the services of a literary agent who will help me to contract with a mainstream publisher.

Please support me on Patreon as I write her biography.

Thank you!
